There is no way of making that call with our hearing all of the evidence. It is up to the jury to determine if the evidence was enough to convict. Generally you do not base this decision on just one piece of evidence, but a combination of everything presented by both sides. If you feel that the prosecution did not prove their case, then you need to acquit, as everyone is to be considered Innocent until PROOVEN guilty. I hope that if I am ever falsly accused, I have an intelligent jury deciding my case.

Well, the person has to be mistaken about something and that is reasonable doubt!

I can't tell you how to plead, but if it were me I would plead not guilty anyway as the sentence will be the same even if you are convicted!

And if I was a juror, based on the fact that it wasn't the car, I could not convict even if I though the person testifying said it was you, as there is reasonable doubt!

It is far easier to believe the plates and car as they are physical. People think they see things all the time!

First of all, jurors don't plead. Defendants do.

Second, if I were a juror, I'd be inclined to see this as grounds for reasonable doubt. But I would want to hear all the other evidence too, before making up my mind.

I would plead not guilty if I was the defendant. If I was the juror I would also probaly find not guilty. People make mistakes all the time. In my hometown people who see me everyday often mistake me for another person that I am not even related to.

A juror doesn't plead and juror decides. I need to see all the evidence and not just your version.

It depend on how big the mistake was. If the number was AFK 345, and the witness's number was AFK 344, then, it is excusable even the color was wrong.
