a long, long, time ago....several times in fact.....i think it was mainly because it was the post hippie era that i was still trying to hang onto, the freedom that was attached to it. it wasn't like i really needed to get somewhere important or anything. i thank my lucky stars nothing really bad happened, because it certainly could have been a real bad thing......

welllll back in my day which were the good old days. I hitch hiked all over. I didnt have a car. I hitched to work and caught a ride home or near home with someone from work every day. I hitch hiked (Hiked meaning walked a lot) from Virginia to Florida and back and to Arizona and Michigan. It was considered safer then, still risky but not generally fatal.
Im not sure when that all changed but the world is much more violent now .. sad ..

I hitched a few times. The first time I was with two other friends and we just need a ride. By myself, a few times - one time that I remember my car broke down and I need to get back to my house.
I've picked up a few riders also - kinda like my way of giving back, but I wouldn't do that anymore unless the other person was female or I was packing a gun. You never know if the unknown person is a crazy.

Yeah when i was in college the bus broke down so a bunch of us hitched a ride in the back of some guys truck.

Uhuh. My car breaks down in the middle of the desert, some guy who looks like Harrison Ford in Indian Jones shows up on a horse and we ride off into the sunset, oh wait, that was my dream last night. Not recently, no.

Yes,when I was 14.I was coming out of a bar drunk and lost my last 20 bucks.I couldn't get a cab so I hitch hiked,and it almost got me killed.Luckily I wasn't severely injured.

Yeah because i ran out of gas on the interstate. The gas gauge wasn't right.
