Forgetting about Dubya Bush, I wish we could, for a second, does anyone really think the democrats will do a better job of running congress?

They're just as power hungry and money thirsty as the republicans.

I don't think a thing will change, except maybe the Dems will stop b@#ching so much and the Reps will start.

Democrats have already clearly stated how they intend to "get to work" over the next two years - by helping Bush push through a mass amnesty for illegal aliens - something his own republican House even prevented him doing - and also wasting time on the non-issue of the minimum wage.

Will raising the minimum wage and legalizing all illegal aliens re-instate the nine amendments to the Constitution that were abolished under the Military Commissions Act? Get rid of the domestic eavesdropping program? Claw back the out of control deficit?

We were told the Republicans were abandoned because of corruption and Iraq and yet the democrats have completely avoided specifics about how they intend to address these issues and on the question of impeachment have vowed to protect Bush.

Will there be dissapointment when the democrats commit the very crimes and misdemeanors that supposedly cost them the House and Senate in the first place?

The question is will Nancy P be able to handle the new breed of moderate God Fearing Democrats in the house?

The line in the middle was blurred in the elections. Moderate Democrats will work better with moderate Republicans than they will with far left Democrats.

Sure there will be corruption and power mongering, but lets create an atmosphere of optimism and something good might happen.

I think the recent elections results will do is restore a balance of power to the government, without these checks and balance's the government has been free to expand the executive branch's power and this was wrong. We have a system of separate but equal branch's and this is what checks and balance is all about. I think it will have to cause compromise and that has been sorely missed these last 6 years.

They have a lot of housework to do, because the house has been in shambles for the last 12 years.....rubber stamps everywhere! I think that it is going to be a hard job, but they are very capable.

Try as they might, the Liberals are still "Red-Hot Mad" about the war. Oh, not because of the dying soldiers, but b/c it's costing sooooooo much and they would prefer to have that money for their "Programs".
Programs first / terrorists second.
Truth hurts!

The democrats held congress for forty years, it took 12 years for the country to get fed up with republicans. Yes I quite think they know what they are doing and will do a better job.

Don't expect miracles overnight, for you still have a couple of bone heads at the top... Namely Bush and Chaney...

If raising taxes, flip flopping, cry babying about a war, is doing a better job, then yes.

One can hope. Going by their track record, I'd say probably not, but I will reserve judgment until January, when they take office.
