omg I've been in this situation soo many times. This is just girl-world at large... if you really value your friendship with this girl, you can confront her about it and ask her why she thinks you've said something about her. If she thinks that because of another person, confront THAT person... just get to the bottom of it. In the end, if you can't resolve it, your friend is not a friend if she doesn't believe that you're innocent, and I would just walk away with my head held high and ignore the bitches :)

how close is this friend/ is she someone you want in your life? You should ask her what she thought you said and talk it out with her. Because someone can misunderstand or mis hear different things. Buy her a gift and tell you are sorry. That you did not mean for it to come out like that and it was not anything bad, and repeat what you said. You see friends want to know that you have their back .

Confront her with it. I had someone once thing I said something about her, but someone told them a convoluted story. She avoided me for months. I cornered her in the grocery store and asked her why she was avoiding me. She told me, and I told her my side of the story. She was a victim of a person who exaggerates, and we really must straighten these things out. Someone who feels hurt is not going to reach out. You must extend your hand to save the relationship!

Be honest with her. Just tell her you didn't say anything bad about her, and if she doesn't believe you, then maybe she isn't a good friend.

you should confront them. and tell them that you did not say what they think you said. because that would not be a friend to say what ever she thoght you said. maybe then you can become friends again
