Anything to a negative power is the same as 1 over that number to the positive power.
So, 5^-2 = 1 / 5^2 = 1/25
~ ~ ~ ~
When you are multiplying two exponents, if the base is the same you can add the exponents --- for example x^R * x^S = x ^(R+S).
So, 4^-3 * 4^-2 = 4^-5 = 1 / 4^5 = 1/1024
~ ~ ~ ~
When you have two exponents in a fraction, if the base is the same you can subtract the exponents --- for example x^R / x^S = x ^(R-S).
So, for 5^3 / 5^4 = 5^(3-4) = 5^-1 = 1 / 5^1 = 1/5
~ ~ ~ ~
Hope that helped!

With the negative exponent, just flip the number and change the negative exponent to a positive.
5^-2 = (5/1)^-2 = (1/5)² = 1/25
Do the same for the others.
When you divide exponent, they subtract and when you multiply, they add. BUT the base must be the same!
Let assume B=base and x and y = exponent
b^x / b^y = b^(x-y)
b^x * b^y = b^(x+y)
Example 2^5 / 2^3 = 2^(5-3) = 2^2 = 4
Example 2^3 * 2^2 = 2^(3+2) = 2^5 = 32

okay a number to a negative exponent means to put 1 over the number and then solve so you would have
1
---
5^2
or 1\25
the others you could solve a couple of ways,
i would take the exponent from the top and subtract the exponent from the bottom if the root is the same (5^4\5^2), otherwise solve each and the simplify the fraction

yes you do im studying factorization right now: you multiply y by y^2 then times it by -6y then times it by -2 do the same for the 5 then you combine like terms(remember the negatives) . if u want the answer say so
