I have a 78 camero and I bottomed it out one day and the gear shifter some how got pushed back down into L2. After I got the car unstuck it would not shift into Park or Reverse. It still runs good I just can't put it in park or reverse.

Sounds like when you bottomed out that it changed the linkeage setting. You will have to take it to a garage to reset the linkeage. I suggest that you get a Silverado or Jeep if you are going offroad. A Camaro is just not suited for offroad LOL

i own a repair shop, and if you,ll look under it you,ll discover it has bent the bracket that holds the linkage to the transmission on it,and its not going to go in park until you get it repaired, that must have been a hard lick to have bent that much of it,but that's whats wrong, good luck i hope this help,s.
