Help me let go of the fear I have of losing her to a man one day down the track..come on people!!

2006-11-12 14:19:15 · 11 answers · asked by tideegirl 1 in Society & Culture Cultures & Groups Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender

I feel insecure not because she has actually done anything wrong but she tells me about friends of hers from work that are sleeping with other people whilst in a relationship. Don't you reflect your friends? She sometimes comes home later than she promises thinks it's cool to take pills at the age of 34...I've done that stuff and I'm over it... Just think that maybe there is more than meets the eye - maybe I'm too suspicious and crazy..

There are no guarantees like what you are looking for. It is probable that your insecurities are a sign to you of the obvious and likely possiblility. What amazed me, and I wonder how many picked it up, was that you did not say that you were fearful of losing her to another female. Now that is interesting!

A bisexual and a lesbian, straight person, or whatever have the same likelihood of cheating or leaving their partner for someone else. No matter what your girlfriend's sexual orientation is, she is no more or less likely to cheat because of it. My lesbian ex-wife had cheated on her past girlfriends (that's not why we're exes, by the way), but I, a bisexual, would never even THINK about cheating on ANYBODY, whether it's a guy or a girl.

I think the best thing to do is keep in mind that you have the same chance of losing her to a man as to a woman, but unless she has given you any reason to think she'd cheat on you or leave you for someone else, you just kind of have to live with the fact that anyone in a relationship has to live with- you may love each other, but there is a possibility that somewhere along the line you may not be together, whether someone else has come into one of your lives or for another reason- but as long as you are honest with each other, it's a chance you have to take if you want to be with people.

She needs to get over the pill thing for one. After that just make sure she knows you want the two of you to be with each other and each other only. Also good for you it's always nice to see other fellow bisexuals in a monogamous relationship, to many use their sexuality as an excuse to cheat.

Your choice is to either have the self confidence that if she wants to be with you she will, and if she's going to cheat she will and you don't have to accept that kind of behavior.

I am also a bisexual woman in a long term lesbian relationship with a bisexual woman. Frankly she's pretty darn hot, a ballerina, blond, intelligent, and plays well with others. However, I know that I am who grounds her and I am who shakes her world. I never worry about her cheating, she would be a fool to do so because no one has ever loved her so well. If she does, then its all about choices and consequences. I don't associate with liars and cheats and her consequences are to lose me.

If you constantly worry about her being faithful you might miss the actually enjoyment of being with her. Let it go.

It's all about trust. Do you trust your girlfriend? If you do then you have nothing to worry about. Bisexual, lesbian, or straight - if she is in a realtionship with you and faithful then she is only with you. There is risk in any realtionship but trust is what you need.

Don't fall for a bisexual myth about being faithful or not, that is a choice everybody makes. Go to the HRC site to learn the myths and the truth.

Maybe being together and seeing what a beautiful thing you have will be enough to keep you together. Nothing is certain, whether you are straight, gay, or bi. Relationships come and go, you have to work at them.

I think that often its the fear that drives people away. I know in the past when I had that fear it happened. You should have faith in her and you. if love is strong it can keep you together

your fear is no different than any other relationship. Men worry they may lose their girl to another man and women worry they may lose their guy to another woman. Take a chance!!!! and enjoy!!!

You need to try to figure out why you feel so insecure...has she given you reason to mistrust her? You need to get to heart of the problem...so you can be happy! Good luck!

If two people are wholly committed to each other they will stay monogamous.
