Hi,
The laws for incorporating vary state to state but They are pretty close. You need to do a few things ..First , once you decide on the name for your business you need to make sure it is not a duplicate in the state. You find this out by contacting the secretary of state. {you will be really lucky if your first choice is not taken}. File what is called "The articles of corporation" which you can get from a "How to incorporate book"...or you can have an attorney draw them up...{most people go that way but if you don't want to it is not a law. You will have to pay the appropriate fees ..and then you get to wait for the go ahead green light from the secretary of state. I would recommend a consultation with an attorney....if you can afford to start your own business you should be able to consult with a lawyer. But if you feel totally secure on your own ..that's great go for it!!...GOOD LUCK!!
I wish you much success...!!!

Peace

Check with your state licensing admin. I am incorporated in Maryland. To incorporate a name it must not be in use by anyone else. There are many rules. You will need a lawyer in most cases. Delaware has the highest number of registered corps. because they have no corporate taxes!
