Well Mrs McCluskey is a meddlesome one and maybe she is taking care of the dog. She bailed him out by taking his tools away and good thing too - the cops were over there.

i don't think the writers are too concern on where the dog went or where the pot of plant was located differently. i'm sure the dog is somewhere.
