I certainly am. It was something I developed within me when I was an instructor, along with using a joke or other methods to get the attention of my students and retaining that attention. Teaching is a very hard profession and maintaining attention of students to insure that they learn and retain what they learn was a high priority to me and I had to have ingenuity to find ways for keeping the attention of all my students and I did.

I don't bother.
People don't want to hear excuses. They really don't want to hear reasonable reasons either. Better to just say something like, "Sorry I'm late," then just shut up. If they ask for a reason, that's different, but people nearly never ask.

I like to believe that they are reasons but they probably sound just like excuses.

I guess I am very good at it. being in a marriage & managing 3 more girls at the same time requires you to be good at it.
