Why same old stories all day long?

I guess they like to get the news out there and keep it out there. Also what may be news of the morning may be completely new news to someone in the afternoon because they havent seen the news that morning etc. I guess it's just keeping the news that makes news out there so in 24 hours everyone can hear about it.
