Yeah, maybe it's O.C.D but I count them until I get to the platform and then I start over, unless it's just one flight of stairs then I count all the way through. But I always count the stairs.

YES! Do you too? I used to think I was the only one until I heard other people mention it. I count both going up and going down and even steps I use everyday, a dozen times a day. Is it a sign of OCD you think?

always- I moved around a lot when younger (navy brat) I always counted stairs- just in case the power went out so you would be less likely to fall down them in the dark, standard indoor stair tread number seems to be 12 in most homes in the u.s., (because there is a standard measurement for stair tread) sometimes 13 if you count the top or bottom landing

I never thought about it before, but yes, I do. Why do you suppose I do that? LOL I'm so weird!

Wait, I just remembered! When I was a kid sneaking in past curfew, the stairs to my room were right next to the wall of my parents room where their headboard was. The 7th step creaked really loud so I had to skip over that one. Maybe that's what started it!! That would make me slightly less weird, yay!

Absolutely...

It's so funny you ask this.
I think i'm wierd for doing this.
But at night, when it's completely dark, i count the steps to ensure i won't trip and fall flat on my face.

There are seven steps and two flights of stairs which equals 14...

Yeah, am i odd?

And i do this when i go out to places as well. It makes me feel better and secure and mathematically-inclined :P

YES! i think this is a wee bit of OCD that i have - although it's weird, i only count the satys in my house, and only when walking up them, and i already know the exact amount of stairs - but random stairs out in public or in other peoples houses i dont count, it's kinda bizarre...

Usually no, but I have.. Most staircases I climb have 13-15 steps.

No..I'm usually like RACE YA TO THE TOP!!! to anyone walking up the steps. So I'm more concerned about not falling backwards down the steps (that is NOT fun, been there...done that...and got the T-shirt).
