I believe it is safer then drinking. I mean have you ever heard of a high person killing anyone driving or other wise? I mean just smoking pot! It is used to treat arthitis, glocuma, feeling sick to your tummy. It gives one the munchies if, one has a problem with not eating. It is safer then cigarettes. It is a herb ... grown by God no less! Indians used it to have peace talks and in their medicines. I mean caffine is in chocholates, coffees, teas, and meds. It is a drug and it is legal! It would a state more income to lower taxes and give the tax payers a break! Some calls it a gateway to other drugs but, it was not that way for me because it was never abused... meaning like smoked everyday and like 20 joints or bowls a day then .. DUH!!!! I could see how that might be a gateway to other drugs! I see nothing bad in it. Other have worse habits then ... just smoking pot , let's be real. There are some peeps who are prescription junkys but... that is legal and the government gets a big bite out of it! Think about it!

First of all, before you drive me absolutely out of my mind, the word is spelled "coming". Memorize it.
Thank you for beginning your sentences with a capital letter and concluding them with punctuation. Many, many thanks!
I do not think that the widespread use of marijuana in your personal social circle has any relevancy to the likelihood of changes in the drug laws in California.
My views on legalization are generally that it would only be a good idea if the drug were extremely heavily taxed. If people want to use drugs, it makes sense that they should pay all the social costs up front. That seems fair. But basically, since most people do not smoke marijuana and most do not approve of smoking it (your experience notwithstanding), the laws are not likely to change unless there would appear to be a great relief for both the police and the criminal justice system.

A lot more people in the hippie days smoked pot than now and
it is still illegal...
The Govt. war on drugs is a massive federal pork barrel / employment program and won't be easily given up by the bureaucrats and pigs feeding from the trough...
The federal war on drugs is about as successful as was the
prohibition of alcohol 75 yrs.ago...And it is doing a lot more damage to the country...

Try not to hold the smoke in so long, bro. There is no way to tax a recreational drug that can be grown in a 1 gallon pot on your balcony. Decriminalization takes the profit motive out of it, and too many people have careers (dealers, lawyers, cops, judges, jailers, social-workers, etc.) that DEPEND on keeping it illegal, so I am doubtful it will happen.

i think it should be legalized, without a doubt. especially with this big bullshit they're making about cigarettes, the sales of cigarettes are going to decline so badly that the government isn't going to make hardly any money off of the taxes of tobacco products, and marijuana would be the perfect thing to pick up on that decrease. there's nothing wrong with smoking weed anyway.

Why not legalize it? I mean, if cigarettes cause cancer and look what alcohol does...people drink and drive and kill or get killed...soooooo what does pot do? not much, chills you out and makes you love the world and you stay home and off the road most of the time..

Well I'm not so sure it will happen any time soon, but here is my view. When Franklin D. Roosevelt was asked, what will you do when Prohibition is over? "Have a martini" was his reply. So mine is pretty much along those lines.

I've always been in favor of legalizing pot, but unfortunately it's the big money, misrepresentation, and politics that will keep it illegal.

Its quite apparent that you smoke the "good stuff" considering my year and a half old nephew can spell better than you.
If you're offended by that don't worry, just give yourself five minutes and you would have forgotten about it.
