I would call meetings, first meet with the finance department and see what kind of budget we had to work with, then a meeting of all the department heads to brainstorm what we could do to fix the consequences of the poor decisions made and then work on rebuilding the company to become more profitable and customer friendly, also to build morale of all the employees including those that work on the production lines.

I would be a hands on manager and listen to the workers, the dept heads and come up with some type of a budget to work with to promote good advertising and good feelings about the company to start with, and also build morale of workers by putting an incentive package in the works, example: you refer 10 people to use to buy cars, you get a free leased car for a year, something like that depending on the budget and financial figures.

You first have to identify the problem the bad decision caused. Then you have to figure out what the best way of counteracting the problem . If the decision was to use cheap paint, then you must use a better grade of paint. Then you have to let the public know that the change has occurred. You then have to make good on the bad paint jobs. And, you have to let the buyers of the bad paint cars know what you are willing to do.
Then you have to good to your word.
