It is really quite easy to remove IE 7 and when you do so, it automatically rolls back to IE 6; so, there's no need to panic.
Please go to Start, and click on it. Go to Settings and then to Control Panel [depending on your version of XP] and click on it. Wait for the list to be populated and then scroll down to IE 7 and select it. Now, click on Change/Remove. In the query, click on Remove all contents and OK. It will then be done. Exit the Add/Remove Programs and Control Panel and double click on the IE icon and start using IE 6.
All the best.

Click icon "my computer" proceed to add & remove programs
click it, should bring up all current programs on your puter.
Scroll down till you find internet explorer 7, click on it, should
bring up a big blue window with Remove showing in it. Click on
Remove, should dissappear momentarilly. Then you may have
to restart your puter for it to complete dissolve it. Should not
have any negative impact on your unit. What ever explorer
edition you had on before should resume working.
