The Nintendo Wii will be released nationwide on November 19th. Some stores are having a special "Midnight Release" for the Wii. However, due to the immense popularity of the Wii... you'll most likely will have difficulty buying one for about a week after launch.

As for the age question, the Wii can be played by practically anybody from age 6 to 100. You may have to help you children out with the basics (pretty much starting the games up & teaching them how to play), but the controls are going to be so natural for most games that they'll easily pick it up in a few minutes (most likely less).

November 19. And it's worth it for all ages, in my opinion. It looks good, and the new controller looks like it'll make people get up and move for some games.
