The birth rate among religionists reflects selfishness. How selfish is it for a couple to have more than two children in a world where the population is exploding. 40,000 children starve to death everyday, our seas are dying from our waste, arable land is disappearing at 2% per year,finite resources (like oil) will soon run out and people have the stupidity to say the world has room for more people. Any reason NOT to have a kid is a valid reason and abortion is the final fail safe for when birth control doesn't work.

You are both lumping all Americans together, have you looked at the baseline age group of most women who have abortions, do you know what is going on in their lives.
Yes, most Americans can be highly selfish, and there might be some women out there who'll use abortions as a crutch, but until you know for sure why each woman makes her choice, that is an unfair question and assumption to make.

This is a moral dilemma. The pro-abortionists want to have their fun at the governments expense, make love and let Uncle Sam pay for the abortion. The con-abortionists believe that life begins at inception, a Catholic dogma, one of which I believe in. I don't see it as an act of selfishness, but more of a lack of Christian morality. There are good reasons for abortion. some of them are rape, incest, health concerns. I believe in those reasons for abortion, but only those. This has and always will be a highly controversial and emotional question.

I think it reflects the selfishness, ignorance and stupidity of americans. People just don't think about their actions. However, once in awhile there is a genuine need for abortion, unfortunately its just not as often.

-there are infertile people who adopt kids that weren't aborted.
