It could be IBS with constipation. Consult your doctor. There are meds that can help. If you prefer a more natural method, keep a food journal. You should keep it a few weeks so you can see which foods do what. Limit the intake of whichever seem to be your trigger foods. For me, I developed IBS with loose stool, which come to find out after doing a journal, I had developed a mild intolerance to lactose. Now I try to avoid it, and use only lactose free milk or soy milk. The journal may take a while, but you will see a pattern in what causes problems

Did you change your diet recently? Take prune juice or a fibre supplement made from physillium husks - they should help. Or if you want to go natural - eat high fibre foods i.e. legumes, whole grains, whole fresh fruits, green leafy vegetables or root vegetables. Remember to drink enough water, there is no point taking fibre supplements or eating high fibre foods if your body does not get enough water - at least 9 x 250ml glasses in your case.

Keep away from pasta and white bread. Don't eat bananas. Eat prunes or drink prune juice, and drink lots and lots of water. You could also try some Metamucil.

Use some over the counter fiber supplement like Metamucil or Fibercon. And make sure you are drinking at least 8, 8oz servings of water everyday.

You should see a doctor.

This is not normal. You should see a doctor before you self-treat yourself when you don't know what the problem is.
