Yesterday I had lunch at the local "Cheesecake Factory." I had a salad and a coke, my wife had an appetizer with water. We both had a piece of their cheescake. The bill was over $41, (fourty-one).
Does that seem excessive to anyone else?

I think the real question is did you enjoy the food? The Cheesecake Factory specializes in the cheesecakes, so they are more expensive than a normal diner cheesecake (and taste way better).

To the woman above, I do hope you try a slice at one point, because it is well above the quality of other cheesecakes. And if you never ate there, how do you know it's not quality food???

I honestly wonder the same thing myself. I couldn't really care for any of the mentioned places. If I'm going to eat out I really want to enjoy. I go to my local place and love it. It has a huge wait on busy nights but it's the only place like it and the food and prices are great! I think more people go to those places because they haven't tried other things. Sure if they tried other places they would branch off but some people just stick to what they know...

Did you notice the price before you ordered? Most resturants are over priced because you're paying for the experience. Besides, why would you order anything but cheesecake?

Yea the food there are pretty expensive. Not to say the quanity is not that much either. Cheesecake is a well known franchize and are well known. I don't think their food is that great. I've been to better restaurant and more reasonable price.
