"Mad World" by Gary Jules maybe?
All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
And their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
'Cos I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad World
Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
Made to feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me

Game is Bayonetta Song is by La Roux called In For The Kill Alternate versions Dubstep musician Skream produced the most well-known remix of the song, entitled the "Let's Get Ravey" remix, which was included on the CD single and digital EP. It can also be heard (excerpted) during the promotional trailer for the 2010 video game, Bayonetta. The track uses Jackson's original vocals over a minimalistic dubstep-esque arrangement, only upping the tempo to drum and bass in the last minute, after which it fades out abruptly.

RE:
What's the name of that R.E.M. song that is on the new commercial for that video game?
I can't think of the name of the video game.
The song has some lyrics about "familiar places, familiar faces" in it...

"Mad World" was originally written and recorded by Tears For Fears in the early 1980's. I also thought that REM did that remake... the vocalist sounds a lot like Michael Stipe.
