On average, 25,000 miles or 40,000km. It all depends on your climate, road conditions ( hills or flat) and how hard you drive. If you check your dipstick often, you should see if it's not red. Please keep a log of when your oil and trans fluid has been changed.

First of all you have to define a couple things,
1. Is it automatic or is it manual?
2. What is the year, make and model of your vehicle - these three items will determine the type of transmission fluid used for your vehicle - different trans fluids and transmissions require different change cycles - can range anywhere from 15,000 miles to 100,000 miles. Without the above information, you can pick any number you want...

I recommend having it changed around every 10,000 to 20,000 miles. Make sure that you ask for a new transmission filter also. Be sure to find a reputable transmission mechanic to change it for you. Someone that either specialized in your make of car or that works only on transmissions. An average price would be between $75-100.

Don't believe anyone who cliams that it should be done 10-50K. I have 3 cars (Lexus, Benz, and Villager). None of them needed transmission fluid with 78K, 50K, and 164K miles.
Check your manual and decide. Based on my web research, once you reach over 100K miles, it is safe to do so.

hey there well i normally change tranny fluid and filter every 15,000 km cause your fluid does break down and sludge builds up in the bottom of the pan so its always good to change it from 15,000 km to 25,000 kms but it all depends if you do alot of towing i'd change it more often and if you don't have one i'd get a tranny cooler put on it helps cool your tranny and exstends the life of your tranny and fluids hope this info was helpful to you

It should say in your manual. It is a 'scheduled' maintenance. There is also a filter in most automatic transmissions that need to be changed as well.

GM suggest changing truck tranny fluids every 50K miles. Thats a good mileage for any auto tranny, every 50K change fluid and filter.
