Sorry Tawni,
Venus doesn't have any plants or standing water. It is hot enough to melt lead on the surface...you'd end up with blackened veggies. Any water present is in vapor form only.
Similarities...
Both are geologically active.
Both have an atmosphere
Both have nickel/iron cores
Differences:
Venus has an atmosphere primarily composed of CO2.
The surface pressure on Venus is 100 x that of Earth.
The earth has ice at the poles.
