Do whats best for them and care about the reprecussions later if your friends hurting themselves it doesnt matter if they hate you it matters that they are safe and out of harms way.

You can't stop anyone from doing anything . You can however stop hanging around them . Bad association with people like that will bring you down .

You can only help those who want to help themselves. But being there always helps. If only from a distance.

my uncle has been a drug addict since his teens i am sure of it. my grandmother, his mother, has DONE EVERYTHING (short of killig him personally) to help him. he doesn't want the help. my poor grandmother is so tired of having to worry about him (he has put her through that much). people only take help when they want it. my uncle went to a few rehabs but always went back to the drugs. our entire family has been there for him, he just doesn't want us to help. it's so sad too.

unfortunately, if they really want to do it, there's not much that can be done. Just be a friend for them when they fall
