Jennifer M, You are such a typical female, low iq, selfish, insensible, cruel, ignorante, ilogical, emotional, etc, etc, etc!
It is not a cosmetical procedure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you do a cosmetic procedure to your nose you will just make little adjustments on the way the nose looks(you will not remove the nose), and more importantly THE NOSE WILL STILL HAVE ALL THE NATURAL FUNTIONS. The foreskin it is an organ on its own, and it is removed, and the whole natural funtions of the penis will be dramatically altered and removed.
piercing ears and nose is wrong, BUT THERE IS NO COMPARISON TO CIRCUNCISION!!!!
-piercing will heal, circumcision will not
-piercing is just that, circumcision is not piercing the foreskin(and that would be more serious because it is a genital private area, and would be more damaging than done to the nose your ears), it is the PERMANENT REMOVAL of foreskin.
The “medical” reasons for circumcision are for Doctors to make MONEY!!!
Yes Doctors are very, very concerned about the patients……….MONEY!!!
Circumcision is “nothing” compared to other much more terrible things that people do for MONEY, when MONEY is involved EVERYRHING is possible, MONEY is the priority not moral values, not ethics, not health, not wrong or right, not even human life, etc. People are selfish by nature. And that is soooo sad. $$$CASH$$$
Simply does not matter if circumcision has advantages or not; he has the right to his body to be intact, and that overrides everything else. And btw it only has disadvantages, see below.
MOTHERS, the feelings of mothers who observed the circumcision of their babies. Go here if you have the courage:
http://www.circumcision.org/mothers.htm
They do not remember the pain when they grow up, but I wonder what kind of neurological/emotional damage it does to inflict such severe pain to such a young one!
In the US circumcision started to stop boys from masturbating; they will take much longer to reach the orgasm, and the orgasm will not be as intense, but that will not stop them.
Nowadays the “medical” reasons to circumcision are for Doctors to make MONEY!!!
RELIGION--If God intended boys to not have "skin" He would have made them so.
Also, if you examine the bible, lest just say that is full of terrible things that are considered very illegal nowadays, and many of those terrible things are AGAINST WOMEN. Women, how would you like it if those things get legalized?
http://www.nocirc.org/religion/
HYGIENE--Use a new invention, soap and water!!! Women produce much more “smegma”, all kinds of discharges, wetness, and smells; because of physiologic and anatomical reasons, and how would you feel if they cut your vulva lips??? Women, why don’t you answer my question, are you afraid? Women are more likely to get urinary tract infections and no one suggests we surgically alter them at birth to reduce the risks! Just one of many double standards and laws that always treat men worse.
MEDICAL REASONS--No medical reasons. It is not a birth defect! A extremely small chance of a complication do not justify the removal of the foreskin, if so, why don't we remove the tonsils and the appendix when a child is born, and the chance of complications of the tonsils and the appendix is much greater. And what is even greater is the chance of breast cancer so the best thing to do is to remove the breast glands of young girls or at least remove them at the first sign of trouble without trying any alternative treatments first in order to preserve the breast(women, how do you like it now?). And for infections of all the organs, including female organs, use a new invention called antibiotics. Talking about complications, in fact many baby boys die each year from circumcision and related complications.
EVEN if “TRUE phimosis” occurs, instead of chopping it off like barbarians!, use Conservative Treatments like:
-Topical Medication(non-traumatic and non-destructive)
-Dilation and Stretching(non-traumatic and non-destructive)
-Combination treatment(non-traumatic and non-destructive)
-Preputioplasty is the medical term for plastic surgery of the prepuce or foreskin(many methods).
If you want more detail on Conservative Treatments, go here:
http://www.cirp.org/library/treatment/phimosis/
http://www.circinfo.org/alternatives.html
The foreskin can still be tight even after puberty, and it is natural, not TRUE phimosis.
And now they invented a new reason to make money, the risk of STD in uncircumcised men. Well actually uncircumcised men have more protection, but in practical terms that protection means nothing, because circumcised or not, if you have sex without protection and your partner have an STD you will be infected FOR SURE! That means, it is just one more stupid and desperate reason in order to make money with circumcisions.
SEX--Foreskin actually enhances the sexual experience for men because it constantly moves over the head of the penis causing more friction and pleasure. Men will also lose much sensitivity to the glans if circumcised.
Circumcised men will have to deal with discomfort and dry glans. Uncircumcised men, pull the foreskin back for a day, and see how it feels against your underwear all day, and see what happens. The frenulum is the G SPOT in men.
The foreskin have those functions: protective, erogenous, sensory, and sexual physiologic. After all, why would you want to lose all of those “Meissner corpuscles”, the same nerve complexes which provide fine touch to the fingertips?
It is there for many reasons, that is how a man should be(it is natural).
If women like it better circumcised because it looks better(strange, not natural) or gives them more sexual pleasure(strange, not natural), then too bad, they do not have the right! All men do not like mutilated vulvas, and all men like breasts with nipples, they do not like mutilated breasts, etc, etc, etc, because that is the way those organs are supposed to be, it is natural. Interesting, isn’t?!!!
If that was a common practice to do that to baby girls, all the women would be in a BIG UPROAR about it(and men too!, men are not like women), but it’s ok to mutilate little boys. The great majority of the ones that agree with circumcision are women for their stupid selfish reasons. Even court cases reported in which mother and father fight because the mother wants to mutilate the son, it is always the mother!. You women should be ashamed to that to your son. Men that are not circumcised, will not get circumcised when adults, they would scream, kick, fight and run, if someone tries to mutilate their privates area, just like you women would run too if someone tried to do that to your labia. Men that where circumcised do not realize what they lost because never had one, and most of them that do realize try to justify it so they do not feel bad about it. Many circumcised men feel very bad emotionally because of what was done to them to such a private area.
The uncut boys don’t joke the cut ones. The cut ones joke because they are jealous and traumatized, it makes them feel better, minimize the emotional pain.
It is mutilation of defenceless children in the most private spot, genital mutilation.
It is cruel and barbaric.
It is a human rights violation.
It is not the parent’s decision; it is the parent’s decision if they want to abuse him, rape him, or to kill him? It is the parent’s decision to choose the son religion? How can he chose a religion or his believes, if he is just a baby?
I do not even agree that it is ok if an adult man wants to get circumcised. I think it is wrong, because if a man wants to lose a finger, the Doctor can not do that to him. Think about it, think, think. And by the way, adult men that decide to get circumcised, do it because they know most women like it, they just do it to be more accepted by women.
I think it is just like slavery and all other barbaric acts of the past, it was accepted because it was common practice or tradition, everyone accepted slavery without questioning the facts, but it is not accepted anymore in a modern and fair and civilized society. Circumcision must not be allowed, BY LAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Many other reasons not to do it, check it out:

You don't have a point here. It is a religious ceremony in Judaism, an elective matter for most of our Presbyterian and other christian religions. Times change and practices may or may not change. This has been argued over and over for decades now. Because the best advice today seems to be leave the foreskin, it will continue to be done out of tradition. The circumcision of females in certain African countries is truly horrendous and is a crime in America. Last month a man was arrested and is going away for years because the doofus circ'd his daughter. Now that's child abuse. Those of us circumcised do not miss anything because it is a moot point for any child that has been. You don't miss what you don't have. And in this world where every tiny religion is respected we turn our heads away in many ways. I frankly believe religion is a sham but it is necessary to control the behaviors of millions of people who would otherwise be far more animalistic. You sound as if you are angry that you have lost, as you say, 3 mil nerve endings even though that is a concept you and we cannot conceive. The millions of remaining nerve endings do just fine. Clearly, if a major world religion like Judaism was founded on principles including sending the foreskin into a nearby pot, then it is God's will because it seems to me that the Jews have a more direct route to God than any of the others. I just sing, "Bye, bye, love, bye bye foreskin, I think I'm not gonna cry."

When I was in college I did an Ethics paper which started out being on Female Genital Mutilation but ended up comparing FGM to male circumcision. Medical ethics dictate that all people deserve equal care. In the U.S., and most of the world, FGM is considered a barbaric, violent disfigurement to a women's sexual organ. Additionally, the physicians' creed of, "First, do no harm," of course suggests that any disfigurement to a child for the sole purpose of cosmetics and/or religious tradition forbids the practice of FGM. Here in the U.S. FGM is illegal and if I remember the details of my paper correctly, there have been arrests made for doctors who have [secretly] performed the procedure despite our laws.
My paper disputed many claims supporting circumcision and provided much data dispelling myths (such as you have mentioned) about so-called benefits of male circumcision. The paper also described many common mishaps which leave the male with a disfigured and oftentimes permanently painful penis.
The U.S. is the only industrialized nation where the majority of males continue to be circumcised. The rest of the world have come to their senses.
Many of the same people who abhor FGM defend male circumcision. To me, there is little difference and speaking from a medical healthcare professional's point of view, I look forward to the day when this barbaric procedure is no longer performed on men or women.
Good question. It is an issue which needs to be discussed and an attitude which needs changed. Thanks.
Wikipedia has more info than there is room here. Good article and photos.

Ok I was the poster of two of those comments. For one.. I said that I had never read anything that said that the foreskin served a purpose. I never said that it didn't. And I also said that an uncircumsied member was a little creepy to me. I never gave it as a reason to justify a circumcision... And I metioned that it didn't matter anyways, because the person I have chosen to be with had the operation done, by the will of his parents (not my own) when he was a child. Nor did I ever say that it was a reason that I would have the procedure done to a male child of my own. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT AND POST YOUR QUESTIONS IN THE CORRECT CATAGORY! PLEASE!

OK, first of all most pediatricians do reccomend circumcision, but as far as their concerned it has nothing to do with religion. Its a matter of hygeine. Have any of you males, that are not circ'ed, not been real diligent about pulling back your foreskin and cleaning the head of your penis, OUCH! I'll bet that hurt when that fore skin decided to super glue itself to the head of your penis and you had to rip it back so it woul'nt get infected, yea, thats right, thats what happens if you don't keep it clean. The head of your penis gets an ifection all around it, it swells up and ends up having to lanced (cut open) so all the puss can drain out and then for the grand finale that foreskin that you can't figure out why they cut off has to be pulled back by using a scalpel to cut it where it is adhered to the head of the penis. And of course all those medical studies didn't report not even 1 infection, what parent is going to volunteer there son for that study if they were'nt responsible enough to teach thier sons to clean the heads of thier penises. Alot of times even though they were responsible enough, the sons were'nt. And the how many adolescent males are going to let their parents ck the heads of their penises, NONE. And then to make matters worse, most boys won't tell their parents that theres a problem untill it gets so bad it scares them. (who wants to show their parents the heads of their penises) And if that is'nt enough, guess what happens when infections keep occuring? The pediatrician reccomends (you guessed it) a CIRCUMCISION!!!!! Which is alot more dangerous when your 11, 12, or 13 years old. So how does circumcision sound now?

It serves no purpose being there. Besides the guys can keep their self cleaner without it than with it. If they think about it the ones that still has theirs would have to take extra time in pulling the foreskin back to clean under it and the ones that don't have it, don't have to do that. Not to many men I know out there wants to go to all that trouble with their hygiene. And the old bed hoppers that are out there and has sex with 2 or 3 girls a night, they are not cleaning their self that good before going to the next one, so think about what is under that foreskin after having sex with one and then going to another for sex...........ewwwwwww
As for the pain, you are a new born when that is done and you don't even remember it at all. Do you remember being born? Well stop and think about that one. Do you realize that child birth not only hurts mom (unless she has a C-section) but the baby as well. Yes it is painful for that baby being born as well as mom. Think about how small the opening is for that baby to come threw and how big that baby is, child birth is painful for the baby too. They have proved that it hurts the baby.

While it is true many people do know about this, I have to say not all do, and many of our younger adults, whom are getting ready to have a child should be told. It is silly to think it "old news" and that "everybody" knows about this, or "everybody" knows about the truth or untruth about anything. As long as we continue to birth children, they will continue to need educating, and as such will continue to need to learn certain things that others may already be aware of.
With that said, I have to differ on there not being "a single medical study" having found any increase in infections when this procedure is not performed. I have to say I have had a few boys of my own, and if I and their father had not educated them on proper cleanliness, and to come to us when a problem in that area arise, they would indeed have had an infection. The main issue is the skin which encloses the tip of the penis. This enclosed skin area IS prone to infection IF not kept properly clean and sanitary. However, with the first sign of redness, a single dose of peroxide will clean it right up and stop the infection from getting out of hand. Now, if a person, a parent, did not know how to properly care for a uncircumcised boy child's penis, nor taught that child proper hygeine, then infections can and do occur. So, education is key here and it is important to obtain information in this issue.
It is competely uneccasary to circumsize a baby boy. I also agree it is inhumane and a horrible way for a child to meet the world, with pain and suffering on the onset. What type of emotional damage this creates in an infant's life later in life is a study which simple must not be performed and therefor we shall not know the results. I know, for a fact, infant boys are not given any medication to numb the pain during this procedure. I know this as I witnessed a child having this performed and saw how much pain the child was in, how he was purple with screaming, and asked what was given to abate any pain. I was told that nothing was given "as the infant will not 'remember' the pain" and also that an infant does not know what pain really is as they do not have any 'knowlege' of what pain "is" and so do not "feel" it. This is outragous to me and I heartedly disaprove and hold this in great distaste believing it should be against the law.
Now, the Jewish people have lived many years and they are the one, single race who are not only a 'race' but a 'religion'. They have great history and their religious customs are their own. With that said, I do not agree they should circumsize their boys, period. It is barbarious, cruel, unspeakable, and totally wrong to do such a horrible painfull thing to these helpless children. It is not any different in my opinion of those people who 'circumsize' girl children, mutilating their most sensitive, private places, and in the most unspeakable painfull and invasive manner. They do this when they are around the age of eleven or twelve, hold them down, without anything to kill the pain and cut off the tip of the clitoris, and often also sew up a large section of the vigina. This is supposedly to keep the girls from enjoying sex and therefor stop them from 'cheating' on spouses. They have worked this intoo their "religion' as well, and here in the United States of America it is against the law. So, then, why is it ok for the Jewish people to continue a practice which has been shown to have little or no baring on health? I think it is simply due to the fact it is politically incorrect to go 'against' the Jewish folks at this time in history. So, for now, boys born to Jewish homes and boys born into homes of young adult who are not properly educated will continue to have this mutilation of their penis.
So, I agree with you completely. I will not get into the remainder of what you said here as I agree with all of that as well. I am also glad you are outraged and have wrote the statement you have here about this issue. It IS something some people still need brought to their attention, and it will continue to be, sadly, until we finally really become truly 'civilized' and put a stop to such barbarious practices. So, you just keep right on shouting your outrage out to the population, just do so in a respectfull manner. Don't allow your own outrage to reduce who you are inside as a person. Sometimes our anger over such cruelties can bring out our own demons and it is important we keep them at bay or our message will be lost in the midst of that anger and upset emotion spilling out may be alll others hear or read.
I wish you the best and I am glad your own boys will not suffer the fates of so many other unfortunate young male infants in our world. I also wish you a prosperous life and joy always. Blessed Be.

lol i had my ears pierced at 6 months old and never had a proble with it. i dont wear earings and the holes closed up. go ahead and pierce your childs ears, no one is hurt and if they dont like it when they are old enough to have an opinion about it they can take them out. As for circumsition, my son is circumsized and it wasnt out of religion. Its just that I dated a guy in high school who wasnt circumsized and hated it. He said it didnt do anything for him sexually and actually went in for the surgery himself his senior year. At that age it was so painful for him. I decided then if I had a boy he'd be circumsized from the get go. Its the parents choice and I hardly see any religion deciding you can live with out your hands so that just seems a little ridiculous and extreme. I also feel going as far as saying lets give babys face lifts is extreme. Come on be at least a little realistic.
