When I was a kid we always had a soldier separated from his family over for Thanksgiving, there's some sort of program that matches people up I think. Anyhow it's one of my fondest memories and I try to honor the spirit of it every year.
(P.S. Pray my mom and dad aren't forcibly re-enlisted)

Yes military family do offer to the ones that are alone on the holidays. My husband was in the ARMY for over 21 years and we have opened our doors during the holidays and throughout the year to soldiers and their family during the the time of being separated. May God bless each one who thinks of someone else at this time of year.

i missed being home for a lot of holidays during active duty. It wasn;t that bad tho, because my fellow soldiers are also my family. one of my most memorable christmases during my time in the marines. my ship pulled into Malaga Spain. its a very catholic town, so the whole place rolled up the sidewalks and shut down. i was with a group of about 6 marines and sailors wandering around until we found an open restarunt. it was a chineese place! so for christmas dinner we had peking duck and about 9 bottles of champagne! it was soo much fun. it was kinda weird tho to see chineese guys speaking spanish!

Thats undesirable She must have had the coronary heart and honesty to inform you, and doubtless even invite you there too. We get pulled in diverse instructions now and again through our previous and modern-day emotions. If we stay common about it, we do not shake issues up in such undesirable techniques and we only kinda land the position we belong. reliable human beings can frequently a minimum of tolerate one yet another.
