wash in warm water with a mild detergent on the gentle cycle, that seems to work for me, also shake out the rug before washing and dry on low heat. the heat is probably what made the rubber crack. hope this helps.

Wash in the tub, but they are a pain to get out of the tub and put it in a basin to carry to the washer......
then on the gentle cycle -Rinse, Spin and drain.....only 1 at a time...
and dry hanging on the edge of the tub....dryer will destroy it again!

I have always put them in the washer, and then laid them outside to dry. A dryer will make the backside crack and fall apart.
