Subtract 11 from both sides gives you:
11w=minus66
Divide both sides by 11 gives you:
w = 6
Divide is usually given as the "/" slash sign. Excel (the MS spreadsheet program) uses that symbol for division.

Use this:(a/b)
11w= -77+11
11w= -66
w= -66/11
= -6.

11w -11 = -77
(move -11 over to the other side of the equation and change the minus sign to plus)
11w = -77 + 11
(compute that side of the equation)
11w = -66
(divide -66 by 11)
w = -66/11
w = -6
That's your answer.

Add 11 to each side: 11w = -66. Then divide each side by 11: w = 6.

add 11 to -77, that's -66. then divide both sides by 11. that makes w=-6.
you can't make fractions in the computer. your best bet is to use parentheses. like (-66/11)

well...this isnt so bad...its sorta like reverse order of operations
order of operations is paranthesis, exponents, multiply/divide, add/subtract
so in revers...you need to add/subtract
in this case to move that 11 over to the other side...youneed to add it to both sides (remember what you do to one side you must do to both)
so now you have 11w=77+11=88
now we need to divide...because we do the opposite of whatever operation is there...so divide by 11 (remember both sides)
so w=88/11=8
hope this helps
