The BEST way is through an ultrasound. I found out I had twins with an ultrasound at 7 weeks. Good luck!

an ultrasound is the best way. it will be able to tell straight away. my partner and i were afraid of having twins as the are in our family backgrounds but at 8 weeks getting an ultrasound we were told straight out there was only one.

You might be larger than expected for the time you've been pregnant. All of the pregnancy symptoms may be exaggerated. The Dr. or Midwife might hear two heartbeats. But, the only definate answer would be ultrasound.
