There are a few things I would like to do.

1) Get the US's nose out of the business of other countries. These countries hate us and resent us telling them what to do.

2) I would try to find a congressman that would introduce legislation that would discontinue the grants and funds being sent to foreign countries. Since the rest of the world hates us so much, which has been a lot longer than Bush's presidency, there is no sense in offering foreign aid.

3) Another piece of legislation would request that our country become neutral like Sweden & Switzerland. Before WWI, the US was a neutral country. This country at that time was self-sufficient. For the exception of oil, this country could be this way again and a business agreement could be made with the oil producing countries. And what is so beautiful about this is that now the banking industry is regulated and there will be no more bank runs vs. the original isolation.

4) Would discuss with congress how to re-allocate the appropriations that were originally designated to foreign aid. Suggestions would include returning funds robbed from the Social Security pot and funding Medicare/Medicaid/Welfare.

5) Introduce legislation to revamp the entire tax code. The current code is out of control. The government should end the income tax for low and middle income individuals and instate a VAT tax to collect revenue for the government. The income tax should stay in effect for the upper income individuals, corporations, fiduciaries, etc, etc but at a reduced tax rate. Instead of the corporation paying a 35% tax rate, the corporation will pay a 20% tax rate and still be subject to the VAT when purchasing end user items for the business. For the upper income individuals, the tax rate would be reduced as well and their purchases would be subject to the VAT. With this idea, the VAT would be exempt for food and clothing sold to low income individuals. A special card would be distributed to those people.

6) Have an exploratory committee come up with ideas to make health care more affordable and put the decisions regarding health back into the doctors' hands vs. the insurance companies.

7) Make sure that there is additional legislation introduced to stop the slow erosion of the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution. Slowly the "prohibiting the free exercise thereof" is being taken away from the Christians in this country. This must stop. This includes giving children an ability to take a Bible to school to read on their own time and to give children the right to have an informal prayer meeting on public school grounds. I am OK with not having prayer after the pledge and Bible readings in class unless the school offers a Bible class. An elective Bible class should be allowed.

I only have a week and I believe that I have more than a week here but these things are very important to me.

Make Common Sense Laws.
Such as: Not allow people to vote until they've read what a law is actually about. Not allow mud slinging in politics. Stand on your convictions, and if you try to put down the other opponent - you're out of the race.

Take away the endless appeals for death row that zaps taxpayer money and prolongs the inevitable.

Give an IQ test before someone gets behind a wheel. Make someone take a common sense test before they reproduce....etc, etc.

Remove George Bush from the Oval Office. Bring our soldiers home, give every American citizen free health care and educational assistance for life, raise the minimum wage to $10.00 an hour, and escort every illegal alien, and non-citizen to the border. Oh, and imprison OJ Simpson for the murder of his wife.

Bring our troops home permanently
Legalize stem-cell research
Legalize gay marriage
Help the homeless
Help Katrina victims in rebuilding New Orleans

Basically I'd pay more attention to America's problems and stop focusing on other countries.

I would create and amnesty week for all credit card charge off, all MVA insurance violations and Tax free week. This would boost the economy because people would want to spend more money.

I would change prisons to prevent inmates from having more rights than their victims.
