You want to be VERY careful using this drug. My wife was recently prescribed this as a anti-smoking/anti-depressant by her doctor. After (3) weeks of taking the medication, I had to rush her to the local hospital here due to kidney failure. She has now stopped taking the medication, and miraculously has been given a clean bill of health on her kidneys. So, I will let you decide whether or not you still want the prescription.

Also, another suggestion, you may want to do a generalized search on Welbutrin and its derivitive Bupropion. You will find that there are several other cases/reports of kidney issues just as my wife had.

I am on welbutrin XL and I quit smoking on july 31st this year. It makes some people gain weight and some people lose weight. I have noticed that my face has been breaking out, and it never did that before.

This site will give you information on Wellbutrin. But, yes, Wellbutrin in the form of "Zyban" is used to help people stop smoking and is a very good aid to do so.
I hope that this helps you.

I don't know if it does it or not. Talk to your doctor. I don't smoke, however, it has worked well for me as far as controlling my emotions.
