Why is France's newsmedia so careful not to mention "Muslim" relating to their recent riots, etc. ??

Really because the riots were not caused or orchestrated by muslims. Rather, muslims youths, along with the youths of other immigrant groups were rioting because their social isolation. Why are your questions so careful not to mention "research". See the below article and also the Economist's recent survey on France.

I was living in France during the riots, I think the main reason why people avoided classing the youths as muslim was because it wasn't really an issue of Islam at all. The riots were not a religious movement. They were instigated by a youth who are largely marginalised in society by a number of factors, including inadequate housing and education, unemployment and an extremely strict assimilation policy; leaving them bewildered, unsure of their identity and prone to violence. Islam was really not an issue in the case of these riots, and many of the youths see themselves as something inbetween 'beurs', or arabs, and french- before they even begin to class themselves as muslim..
