I would buy a pre-n model. They typically have the best range. Belkin makes one and LinkSys makes one. I prefer the Belkin.

Check out www.newegg.com for reviews. Amazon.com also has reviews.

Linksys is the better of the bunch in my opinion...and like one of the responders said, Cisco is the best...Linksys is owned by Cisco.

802.11a devices a rare find today, but exist

you can get the newer router from Linksys that supports b, g and n protocols and have the best of all worlds (except a)

A prompt modem router will be a prompt router/modem blend and a prompt router would only be a router through itself. in case you had severe-p.c. cable information superhighway you would want a modem correct to a prompt router to get on line.
