No. It's great that you were thinking about it so early. A lot of people just go to college because. . .it's just something to do, or because their parents tell them to. The people who are there because they WANT to be there are the ones who succeed.

No, it is not weird. A "good university" is one that you fall in love with. After all, you're going to spend the greatest four years of your life there and remember it and your friends forever after. It could be a "good liberal arts college." Also, you have to study what you love. People will ask you what's your major. The most poisonous rejoinder is, "Oh...Well...I guess you can always teach it."

I went to Illinois, Rutgers, Iowa, and Purdue. I loved Illinois and Iowa. I've always wondered how I would have liked a four-year college. I went all the way in chemistry, because I loved it. But the most influential course I ever took was as a senior at Rutgers, "French Literature in Translation." The professor wanted to teach a class of a dozen students who did not know French. There I found my favorite author, Michel de Montaigne.

Not at all; your goals may have changed since then (for example, you may apply to MIT instead of Power Rangers University. . . couldn't resist that after reading the response about Power Rangers). :-)

When you were six, did you know someone who was in college? Were the people around you convinced that this person in college was headed for some good life? If so, that probably influenced you more than you know.

Not at all!

The weird thing would be that when you got there, you actually thought it was the real answer to all the dreams you had been hoping for!
THAT WOULD BE WEIRD!!

Usually, when we get to a point or situation of which we had always been dreaming, the reality really let's us down compared to the picture we had of it in our dreams!!

No. When I was 8, I wanted to go to Cambridge, and I've wanted to go to college since I was 4.

No, kids start planning carrers in pre-school sometime, but, trying to be a Power Ranger doesn't exactly count as a career *points to my cousin*

No; unusual but not weird. You should be proud that you are so goal oriented.
