Good and bad things happen to good and bad people.

Well, I have a conjecture here. I think we notice the bad happening to the good more often, but I think the bad happening to the bad happens more often. Look what happens when you concentrate bad people, such as in prison; a slaughter. Bad people are very bad to their own kind, perhaps do to opposition from them. They seem to hang together, probable because good people do not like them. When they do hurt good people, especially in these days, they have the book thrown at them, if their caught. They usually are, though, in one way, or another. Either the law or other bad people get them. A much better statistical position is to be " good people ". Then if something does happen to you, you have some one around who cares.

Bad things happen to good people to test them. What is it that makes them "good"? Being "good" is kind of relative. There might be a person in your neighbourhood who is lawful, outwardly friendly and or courteous, but it may be just an act. Anyway, let's assume you know someone who is relatively good in your opinion of them. So did something "bad" happen to them? If so, how are they coping ? Do you see a different side of their character now? Are they remaining positive , optimistic that whatever has occured will have a "silver lining" later on? Or are they disillusioned, even disparing? Why did hurricane Katrina happen to the folks in New Orleans and Louisiana ? Just a natural environmental occurence . What it did was test them. Them and the rest of us as well. Did we respond to their needs?
Did the gov'ts, state , local and federal? Some would say that federallly , the response from its Federal Emergency Mgt Agency did not do enough, soon enough. So in a sense they failed this test. The silver lining of this is that the disaster showed them and us their weaknesses and gives them plenty to fix . It also gave others in the US and Canada, an opportunity to show compassion for their fellow human beings. In some ways, this may have been considered a passing grade in terms of the spontaneous relief response of the rest of us who gave , money, time or items of need. Essentially, the bad stuff, if it doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger. So build your " house" on a firm foundation. As for me and my house , we will serve the Lord. The joy of the Lord is my strength. My God is my refuge , in Him will I trust.

Because there is no guarantees in life that everything will turn out OK

Life is about living for the good and working through the bad, it is about redundancy, it is about sweat, turmoil, anger, frustration, love, admiration, caring, sharing, winning, and losing.

It is important to remember that good things also happen to good people just as bad things happen to bad people.

The whole thing of life is getting through it with love, laughter, tears of pain and tears of joy, but not hiding in a cave to try and avoid what may or may not happen.

We cannot control five seconds from now, so live them as if they were the only five seconds you had, and than what will be, will be.

Because bad things happen to all people. We all live in the same world together constantly colliding with each other and with good & bad situations. This is not taking into account bad energy or negative speaking which heaps more bad onto you than if you are positive.

In regards to good and bad people, It is the nature of the person.
Bad people do bad things, and the people that will let things slide are the good people. A bad person will generally not mess with another bad person, as s(he) knows that they will retaliate.

To sum it up in a concise manner:
Bad things happen when good people stand by and do nothing.
The best example of this is the Jewish Holocaust.

Bad things happen to ALL people - we just notice more when bad things happen to good people.

Because life is random, there is no such thing as fate or pre-ordained plan, bad things happen to ALL people because of coincidence, Murphy's Law, and random acts of nature and people. To think that good people are protected or somehow immune to the laws of nature is not logical or rational. If you start believing in fate and pre-ordained plans, then you're reverted to superstitious CAVE MAN logic....don't do it. Just kidding, do and believe what you want.

Because the good people can deal with the bad things.

I wonder about that myself. Some people say it is a test to see how much people can deal with. I wonder also why bad people get away with things over and over again. I only hope that karma eventually catches up with the bad people out.
