Give me a break. Mean are no differnet than women in that respect. They both can misread the signs. But as for the word usual, usually people get in the habit of interpreting life in their own perspectives and if that perspective is shallow then they will quite often be wrong. Don't assume all people share the same values or wisdom. That would be a tragic mistake that might keep you from meeting a truly wonderful human being.

That depends on your definition of "misinterpret" - and I don't think there is an absolute and simple answer for this. Most responses will start "Yes, but..." or "No, however..." - but I'll start the ball rolling.

As a rash generalisation, men and women think differently. So for one reason or another, it is possible that some "misinterpretation" will occur. Blame it on biological imperative, or social conditioning, or even just inexperience of one party or another. A display of "friendliness" is the first step on the path to a potential relationship - personal, intimate, platonic, or whatever - and just has to be judged on a case by case basis.

OK - so that's not really a definite answer. Unfortunately, you just have to judge for yourself...

Bit late answering this.....lol. But some men I suppose do get a bit carried away if a girl is friendly towards them.Maybe sometimes the girl will give out the wrong signals and of course 99% men will think...yes I'm in here, which is a shame.Just because your friends with a girl, should'nt mean anything other than that....a friend !!!!.Women are all mad anyway....only joking !

My goodness yes! I don't know how many times I have befriended a young man and he took my friendliness as a show of interest. After so many times, I had to start giving the "I just want to be friends" speech from the beginning of our friendship to the very end. Unfortunately, however, most of the guys didn't accept it too well!

Mayhap so ~ but it can go both ways as well. There is the rare occasion when a man will interpret what we women put forth as love as being only friendship. It's happened to me a couple of times.

No, but I think women do. I've been accused of having an affair with a guy at work because he and I are nice to each other, its been the women that think it. Go figure.

I don't think it's true of all men, but I do think it's true
of many men, especially the immature ones.

Many times. Especially if we want that person to like us, but I wouldn't say usually.

Yes, but some women are just as bad. They think if a guy is nice to them, he is interested in more, but that's not always the case. If she is fat and ugly, they really are just being nice.
