definately follow the directions on the bag like the person above me said.

The directions will tell you how much to be feeding a dog of a certian size per day.

Remember pedigree also has brands for puppies- seniors (dogs 7 + years of age) and lite brand dog foods for overweight dogs.

Make sure you're picking the food based on your dog's age/weight. (They also make a special food for large breeds)

One thing to please keep in mind....

If you are switching over to pedigree from another dog food- do NOT just automatically change the food. This will cause digestion problems which could lead to diarreha and/or vomiting.

The best way to introduce a new food-

mix a small amount of the new food in with the food you've been feeding your dog... then after a day or two, add a little more of the new brand and ween a bit of the old brand.

Keep doing this till the old brand is completely weened away. This could take 7 days.

If you notice signs of diarreha or stomach upset... you're probably weening too fast for their system, or giving too much of the new food too soon. Pull back on it a bit and give them a little more of their old food to give them time to adjust.

This will be better for BOTH of you in the long run. (Cleaning vomit and diarreha is not a fun past-time for owner, nor is it fun for the pet.)

There are instructions on the bags / cans of Pedigree dog food that tell you exactly how much of the product your dog should be fed (based on body weight).

We suggest that you feed your dog once or twice a day at the same time every day to help get the dog's digestive system on a regular "schedule".
