I have 13 bears, but that is accumulated over 4 years and I do work for the company. Every Build-a-Bear tries very hard to make sure every guest has a great time and while every experience is different, the steps are basically the same.
You get to choose from over 30 different animals (some of the 'destination' stores have some special animals like Mickey & Minnie in Orlando & Anaheim, an alligator and a dolphin in the Florida and Myrtle Beach stores, some of the stores in specific stadiums have the mascots, etc). Once you've picked your animal, you can put a sound in it, then you help stuff it. You put a special heart in it, the heart ceremonies vary by person, but we try to keep it tailored to the person we're working with. Then we stitch it up and you get to give it a little air bath. You can then get it dressed (and we do seem to have every type of clothing or accessory you could want). Then you go to the computer and make a birth certificate. Finally, you take it to the register where you get your birth certificate, your bear gets boxed up in his/her condo and you get checked out.
It really is a lot of fun and it's certainly more fun with more people doing it with you.

Build a bear is the best. They have something for every body. I like sports teams so I have made bears with all the uniforms of my favorite teams. Still if you are a doctor they have doctor bears. If you are into fishing they got a fishing outfit and so on. They have things for adults and children!

I love the place it where i taken many first dates so they could build themselves a teddy bear cause it a great ice breaker

It seems like something you could only do once and the novely has worn off. Besides, stuffed animals are dust collectors! Sorry - it seems like a cute concept but I hate stuffed animals.

Yes i've made 2 animals there. a koala and a brown bear!! They are so cute!! I also have a horse that my friend gave me her name is pearly lol.
