Some yes, some no. Ultimately people get out of marriage what they put into it, a successful marriage takes a lot of work. These days a lot of people don't seem to realize that, and run to a divorce lawyer at the first sign of trouble, for that kind of person, yes, the marriage was a sham.

That depends upon the person. Some men and women should never get married, based upon their individuality and personality.
There is nothing wrong being single. The old saying is that in order to love someone else you have to love yourself first.
Marriage is a commitment and not old fashioned and never goes out of style regardless of what each generation says. It is the foundation of family, and I don't care if it is gay or straight. Marriage is being there for someone by word, act, and deeds. It is a legal binding agreement, but what it really is; Two people dedicated to life as one till death do them part.

It's only a sham if the two people in the marriage don't want to be in it or if one person is only in it for certain benefits. Otherwise marriage is great.

I think that it typically is. But, there are those rare acceptions that marry because they cannot imagine life being complete without that other person. And that sex would not mean as much and be unwelcome with someone else.
I have never been married, but I like the idea of marriage under the right circumstances.

Are you already tired of your marriage? Here in the US, there is such a thing as divorces. So get one and go never to do the same again.
