Can you remain friends with someone who is not exactly 'smart'. Even though you know their actions thoughts are not intentional, do you not get mad frequently when they behave irrationally or say/do illogical things?

If those irrational things have to much of an impact on you're life to much, then it is not a good idea.

If they haven't hurt you with these things, then maybe, but then is the tension level worth it?

With friendships, it's good to aim upward if possible. Like someone who is doing at least equal or a little better.

Still, you might be helping them. And there might be a bit more than meets the eye there.

But don't limit yourself. Other people might go, hmmmm. And that could matter too.

Why be friends with someone you put down? I don't think that's really being their friend. A friend is one who you can trust, you can talk to, who's supportive and caring. A friend won't put you on a certain level of "smartness" or get mad at you if you say something stupid. If you get mad frequently at a friend, then no, that person doesn't need you as a friend.

yes, you can... in fact, people who are not so smart tend to be sweeter than self-professed smart people like yourself... in fact, you sound like a bit of a b*tch yourself, so I wonder why your "not so smart" friend is still putting up with the snobbish likes of you... go on and keep yourself friends with only other "smart" people, your "not smart" friend is probably better off without the likes of you around...

You can remain friends but will have to accept them for what they are. other wise it's better to move on to other people if you cannot do so.
