it looks like they are in different stages of decay, the sun is a star i know but its on fire the moon is dead, saturn looks like its rings display how big it once once, could it be that we are looking at the different stages of what will happen to earth.

there's not a lot known about planet formation, since there aren't a lot of solar systems out there that are within our ability to observe. Since the sun is expanding, the inner planets are more likely an example of what the Earth will become (a dead hot rock planet). In looking at the planets in order, it seems like gas giants seem to occur at a certain distance from the sun... so perhaps if Saturn were closer to the sun, its dense atmosphere of light gasses would burn off and it would resemble Mars or Venus. Likewise, if it were further out, it would not have the same fluid dynamics and would be an ice giant like Neptune and Uranus... or be little more than an ice ball like Pluto.

As for Saturn's rings, you are somewhat right. Planets are believed to begin as loose particle and gas congregates that ultimately become dense enough to form their own gravitation, so at one time Saturn was a loose conglomerate that encompassed the current ring structure... and as some matter drifted off and some collapsed in to form the planet itself, Saturn had a fairly dense band of particles rotating around the planet's equator at just the right velocity to reach an orbital equilibrium. So yes, in a sense your instincts on the matter correspond to what scientists believe to be true.

But honestly, there is very little in that realm that we know for certain because it is simply outside of our ability to really test our hypotheses and theories.

So, your guess is as good as any.

The sun isn't technically on fire...it creates its energy through nuclear fusion in the solar core. The moon most likely had an atmosphere at one point, but didn't have the gravity to retain it. Saturn's rings are material (interstellar debris) that Saturn picked up and retained at some point (much like planetary moons). Each planet in our solar system is incredibly different, and were formed at the same time. I doubt that Earth will ever end up looking like the moon or anything else in the galaxy.

Unlike the other planets earth has alot of water. We have an ozone layer and alot of features that other planets don't have. Some planets in our solar system are just gas. You need to look for planets that are similar to earth. A good example of what might happen to earth would be Mars. Mars is almost the same size and might once had oceans.

they are all different ypes of things you have described... the planet saturn is a gas giant the moon is a ball of rock and the sun is a star... actually jupiter is bigger than saturn and they think it is a star that never quite got big enough to get going a bit more and we would be in a binary (two star) system...

Hi. Each planet is unique. They all started out with different materials, different distance from the Sun, etc. They do not progress from one type to another. The Sun is powered by nuclear reactions, not fire, so it will glow for a long time.

but the sun started as a small white ball of hydrogen burning and it slowly expands changing colour to blue then yellow eventually it will go red then it will burn itself up the outer planets will become habitable and earth will be destroyed so the stages of decay are reversed but i see why you said it that way

HEHE which would be my cousin and we would bypass seem at jupiter... hehe and there's a narrative at the back of it. See on each occasion i say something stupid, my cousin would question me " WHat planet are u from ?" maximum constantly i say i'm from pluto ( which isn't a planet anymore.) yet one time i reported Jupiter only becoz i replaced into bored with pluto. impulsively he reported " in line with probability it somewhat is the reason ur head is as super as Jupiter !! " LOL ! We had a competent chortle. So if i'm getting the possibility to bypass to bypass to a planet, i'd bypass to Jupiter with him to show him that my head isn't as super as jupiter !lol ~~~@!!@! stable question ! introduced me lower back some stable memories ! i like Mumbhai India's answer !! hehe made me chortle !!!

Perhaps what we see out there are all the possiblilities - what the earth would have been like if it had started out a little bigger, or a little smaller, or a little more of this element or that one.
Kind of like all the alternative universes all at one glance.

Yes, The fate of our planet is death, just like the fate of our bodies is death, hmm, God sounds like a good idea right about now.
