And explain. They are both great!

Yes I agree with you, they are both great. I really loved the song by Who Momma Wears A Squeeze Box, you know that was back when they used different things to mean the obvious, whereas todays music just comes out with it. But back to Queen, I definitely consider them better and more famous. Any football game you go to will play We Are The Champions, or We Will Rock You. When any group has a song that is that well used you have to agree they are better. .....Example, Another One Bites The Dust.

Finally, 2 bands that DO stand up together in a poll! I'm gonna say Queen, with respect to The Who, as Queen really let me escape personally into their music. Each member of Queen were hit song writers. Pete Townsend wrote all the songs for The Who. Pete is also an excellent songwriter but with a grittier writing style. Speaking of 'style', Queen were thick with it! It's what made them. The Who were always doing songs about looking back and reflecting and trying to make sense of it all. Queen did songs about the future, science fiction, lost loves and trying to make sense of it all! Great question, you deserve the points ;-)

Umm I guess I would say "Queen" mostly because I ended up being more familiar with their music. I was always taken to a lot of symphony and opera and classical music performances as a kid, and so when I heard "Queen" I was really digging it - had elements of all this stuff that my dad and mom were promoting, yet it was ROCK AND ROLL (which kinda p*ssed them, ya know? Parents in the 70's didn't like rock and roll, for the most part, at least MY parents didn't ...). I especially liked the tight harmonies in "Bohemian Rapsodies"... reminded me of the old style Barbershop Quartets that my granddad used to sing in!

But The Who is good, too. Just that I'm not (yet) as familiar with them - but I love learning about it so give me time to get caught up in the albums I missed as a teenager and I might be able to say "Both are Great" same as you.

I wasn't a big fan of The Who. I grew up with Queen, from We Are the Champions to Bohemian Rhapsody, most of their songs bring back a lot of good memories. Gotta go with Queen!

The Who. Queen was great, but, The Who brings more of a "in your face" rock feel. Not only that but they had one of the best drummers ever, one of the best bassplayers, one of the best guitarists and one of the greatest singers ever.
Interesting question though, I never thought about comparing the two. They are similar.

queen!!!!! music by the who sounds repetitive to me....queen was innovative for the time, and they combined all different genres of music and all their songs sounded a little bit different. not to mention, freddie mercury is the definitive frontman.

You are comparing apples and oranges. They both have their strong points; their sounds are so different, however, that trying to put them up against each other is not even viable.
