aproximately 15 to 20 for pads and 25 to 30 for the rotors

Wagner Guardian front brake pads are $13.82 a set. Wagner rear brake shoes are $9.45 a set. Raybestos rear brake drums are $11.93 each. Raybestos front rotors are $8.85 each. So the parts you listed cost $64.86 for the '96 Protege.

Take it to Midas or one of the many brake shops out there.
If it's just pads fairly cheap but if rotors and caliber quite a bit more.

should be an hour for each side, though the mechanic might be 1.5 for each side. I would ask if the mechanic could machine the rotors to save some money instead of new ones. they shouldn't be that much. try to get a life time warranty from napa or carquest
