That would actually depend on the situation.
In an emergency situation (a fire, or some such), if you do not take care of yourself first, then you could also become a casualty, and then there are TWO people to worry about, and someone else is required to pick up the slack.
There are other time, however, when it is proper to think of others first. It is just dependant upon individual to decide for themselves when that is.

It depends on the situations. You sometimes have to put yourself first and other times, it's best to put others first.

I think it depends on the situation. Personally, I find that helping people makes me feel good about myself. I believe that most parents put their children first. But I believe that people in general put themselves first before others.

It depends on the situation. If you r the type of person who always does for others and never for urself, then sometimes you should put yourself 1st.

If it makes you happy to do so. Yes. Everyone is different. I do put others before myself. Although it all depends on the time of day and the situation.

Of course we all should take care of ourselves first. When we're flying and when we need oxygen in the air, we're told to put on the mask first before putting on for our own children. If we jeopardize ourselves by helping other people, what's the point?

Sadly enough I almost always put others first, but that mostly consists of my family. I guess, in all reality I am putting myself first though, because I derive my pleasure from their happiness.
Most of the time anyway, heck, I am only human.

Well, you can't really help other people until you first help yourself.
Especially when it comes to fixing other people's problems, before trying to fix our own.
We don't have much to give, until we get ourselves somewhere first sometimes, know what i mean?
