Generally speaking breastfed babies don't get constipated. However, if you are giving solid foods (and by this I mean anything but breastmilk) you may wish to offer a small sippy cup (or bottle) of water with the solids. Like 2oz at most.

Is the poop actually firm? Hard? Or is it more just the small amount that concerns you?

If it is just a small amount, but say no harder than peanut butter that isn't constipation but rather just a small amount. She may have a smaller amount because she is going through a growth spurt and her body is using everything up.

Really it is very rare for a breastfed baby to be constipated.

You can mix 1/2 water and 1/2 prune juice for a total of about 3- oz. should help her.

If she is on solids this is a normal transition. My daughter's poops and starting to be clumpy not too. Since she is not only on breast milk anymore, there will be some actual substance to her bowel movements. If you are concerned talk to your doctor.

My daughter used to get constipated. I would give her a couple ounces of water. That usually cleared it up. You can also put a little baking soda in her bath water and let her sit. That will also get her bowels moving. Good luck.

Try giving her a little prune juice.
