I work at a camp in the summer! I love it there! I work for the YMCA and we take safety very seriously. We are always watching the kids and are always taking roll call every half an hour. We have walkie-talkies with different codes incase something were to happen and we didn't want the kids to know yet. I love being a camp counselor! :)

I am a camper at a camp but I am very friendly with many of the counselors. It is certainly not great money, people do it for the experience, not the money. If you are going to work at a day camp everything is in broad daylight so it is safe. But if you are working at a sleepaway camp you should feel safe as well. Best of luck in finding a job that pleases you.
