Hmm never heard of him but that is not surprising! I love discovering new music. But I remember how shocked I was as a teenager in the 70's when first Elvis died and later when as a young adult John Lennon died. Then here a few years ago, I was looking to see if George Howard had a new album out yet, I already had 5 or 6 of his albums, and wow, was shocked to find out he had died. So I empathize with your reaction.
I went to bmgmusic and am sampling his music now. Very nice, lovely. I am going to get one or two albums - they only have Voices, The G Spot, A Stroke of Genius, Groove On, Love & Consequences, G, Gerald's World, Private Line, but the info says there was at least 8 or 9 other albums. Wow! So which one do you think is the best one for me to get? Oh here's one Father & Son - with Eddie Levert. I remember the O'Jays. Wow. A whole new area. I love my new DSL!! I can quickly sample all kinds of music and I already have so many from the 70's (okay okay so I'm an old bag, 45 years old, my time could come any time, ya know?)
I'm so sorry for your loss but thank you for asking the question and introducing me to more beautiful music. I really do feel for you though. I remember the others I mentioned above, and I have so many of George Howard's albums, that's why I was so shocked when I discovered he was also gone. So I will go and learn more about Gerald - and his family.

I was in disbelief because I had watched sweet 16 where he showed strong family ties with his siblings and his one and only daughter aka "daddy's little girl". I feel sorry for her because she may feel lost without him. Lets keep her in our thoughts and heart.
