It's because life isn't fair. What happens to us is not dependent on how good we are. It's all just a matter of chance, and bad things happen to good people. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

I am so sorry to hear your brother-in-law is suffering. I know how you feel, I had to watch my favorite aunt and favorite uncle go threw the same thing. I wish I could have the answer for you. I never understood why the ones that want to kill themselves are still living and doing the drugs and such and the ones that want to be healthy are dieing in pain. I wish I could be there for you. I do know how hard it can be.

I can't answer your question.I can only tell you one thing.Your brother-n-law may be going through tough times right now,but look at it like this...
When he leaves this world,he will live in a world with no pain, sickness or worries.
And those who do drugs, steal and cheat...well, lets just say that the world they go to, will be eternal torment.
So sorry about your brother-n-law..my prayers go out to him and you..

Sometimes we may NEVER know why one may endure more hardships than others, it can be to make the person who is suffering stronger, or those around them grow stronger and more faithful.
No one knows GOD's purposes, but he never fails us despite our beliefs.

I'm sorry about your brother-in-law. Of course cancer is an equal opportunity disease.

Maybe your church going brother-in-law can answer your question much better. Furthermore, you should ask him why does he think his god is making him suffer while others not as good as he just keeps on living, having money, and making more money.
