I'm shopping for a laptop with a screen size btwn 10-14inches. I am looking for a laptop that doesn't overheat and burn up only to constantly shut down. My Toshiba laptop currenlty does this so I think I am staying away from Toshiba's as well as Sony's (I hear the latter gives same problems too). Any suggestions for any great brands and/or models to consider purchasing?

the xps is the premium range from dell
it's a bit on the heavier side for a 12.1" screen, at 4.3 lbs; cause of the features packed in

the latitude d420 also from dell is 12.1" but weighs 3.1 lbs
> a lame duck cause of the external optical drives & no dediated graphics

fujitsu lifebook have a few lightweight models & u can check them out, but i'd say if the xps m1210 suits u, grab it

I own a windows computer, but the Mac computers are wonderful! I use them all the time at school. they never heat up, they never freeze, they have a gret format. I cant think of any cons about them. I highly reccomend an apple laptop.

I have the Dell Inspiron E1405 with a centrino Duo processor. I use it for hours at a time and it never gets so hot that it burns. barely even gets luke warm.

Good luck!
