I am wanting to go to a high profile college like Norte Dame. My long term goal is to go to John Hopkins or Harvard Medical School. If I go to a smaller college, instead of Norte Dame, but still a good one, can I still have a very high percentage chance of getting into Harvard or John Hopkins? Even if I maintain a 3.9-4.0 gpa?

I think you can get into those high profile schools - the more important thing is your GPA/MCAT/extra-cirr/research/letters of recommendation. You can go to Norte Dame but if your GPA is bad it's not going to take you where you want to go. So I think it's most important to consider the environment of the school you're considering and that you can do well there (as well as having a good time in college! Med sch is prison, have fun while you can!!)

Also if you need to take on any debt, it might be something to consider.

You need to be in the 90% of the MCAT scorers, and you need to have some great letters of rec from, say, staff at a hospital where you've volounteered. You'll also need a killer personal statement. Check out a free practice MCAT to know where you stand, and a free personal statement workshop to start on your application at your local Kaplan center.

good luck!

You need to score really high on the MCAT's which are necessary to get into most medical schools.
