Yeah, I think it's a great idea for most 16yo's to have to go out & live on their own. That way they can learn to appreciate just how good they have it at home, & that having to follow a few rules for 4 or 5 more years is a small price to pay, compared to actually having to make it on their own.
They would have to buy their own food, & clothes, & pay rent, & have to buy their own cool stuff, & have to still go to school & work a job as well if they realy want to have a future.
Don't get me wrong. I am well aware that SOME 16yo's have a damn good reason for wanting to get out of a bad situation at home, & I have seen some who find the sacrifices that they have to make by moving out to be a better alternative to staying at home. But you didn't say why you want to leave, & if you are a typical 16yo who wants to move out, it's because there are RULES at home, & you just don't think you have to follow them.
On your own you will soon learn that there is no escape from rules. Even your parents have to follow rules. For every action, there is an equal & opposite reaction, & it sticks with you for life.
I can promise you this. At 16 in the real world you won't be able to live completely on your own. You'll be dependant on the support of others for a few years to come.

Have you given any thought as to how you will support yourself? Pay your rent? Continue your education? Is it a good idea? Well, in my opinion you are in for a tough time. With only limited education you can probably expect to earn $12.00/hr. at best. If you are lucky you may be able to get into a training program but that will probably mean going to school in the evening after working all day so you can say goodbye to any social life. Figure on a minimum existence of at least $1000./month & you can easily see your future is pretty bleak. Unless your home life is abusive or otherwise detrimental to your well being I would advise staying home & finishing your High School. While it may not be great at home most 16-18 year olds can't wait to finish school & 'Hit the Road.' So do yourself a favour & while the living is cheap & easy stay at home. It's a long hard road otherwise.

That would be pretty rough to do.
You'd have to go on state aid of some kind in order to stay in school and still be able to pay rent, buy food and everything else. A part time job would have to pay pretty well to cover your expenses.
It would be hard to find a place to live as most landlords don't rent to anyone younger than 18. You could do it, but it would be a lot of work and not nearly as rosy as you might think it is. Learn to get along with your family if at all possible, it will be better for you in the end. Can't always run from problems when things get tough.

NO. And you can't rent an apartment. The law says you have to be 18. It woudn't be safe for you to live alone. Give a few more years. The grown up life shows up fast enough and when it does, it's a big slap in the face. But good luck in your choice. Take care.

And how in the world do you think you could AFFORD to live on your own? Have you priced rent, utilities, food lately?
You'll get out eventually, and with an education be able to afford a "rentals to share" room some day.

It depends on what your living situation is....If your living with drug addict parents than you should definetly think about getting out of there....but if you're just not getting along with your parent's it's normal for a 16 year old.....if it's that, you should just hang in there...it'll get better...plus, you need their permission to live on your own anyway.....

Depends on your ability to look after yourself. I mean cooking, washing, cleaning. Ability to pay the rent and bills and still have a couple dollars to enjoy yourself. If you have no fun money it could get really lonesome. If your friends come over and eat all your food and wreck the place you will have to pay for that too.

before considering living on your own take into consideration you will have bills, need food, clothes and other daily necessities. you will have to grow up fast and be independant. personally i would not want my child living on his/her own at 16.
